Finally finished reading trickster‘s choice which i started reading for #theunreadshelfproject2018 for october. πŸ™ˆ now i am looking forward to harry belafonte‘s my song, his autobiography, which i already started a couple of weeks ago and which also nicely fits #nonfictionnovember and the prompt past time. i like his music a lot and have ever since i was a little girl back in the 1980‘s. i have actually never seen one of his movies and will see if i get interested in them after reading about that part of his work. so where are my fellow harry belafonte fans, bookstagram? 😊

I am reading very slowly at the moment so here is a picture of one of my one million unread books... i took it in may or june but the colours are pretty autumnal. :) i got this with one of my pagehabit boxes and am pretty curious to read it. does anyone know this already?

Hey book peeps! how are you? i‘ve been on the road a lot lately and it has been great fun, but i‘m also looking forward to spending some time at home. 😊 the prompt for #theunreadshelfproject2018 in october is to read a book by the author we have the highest number of books of on our unread shelves (this sentence looks like it might not be correct). for me that is tamora pierce with i think 5 or 6 books. i loved the books about daine when i was a kid and always wanted to be like her. i even tried standing in the ocean and listening really hard to see if i could hear whales. my sister and our friend were more into the alanna books so there was a lot of pretend sword (stick) fighting going on in our childhood.
i read that her books are problematic which is something i didn‘t realise when i was a kid (and let‘s get real that was decades ago πŸ˜„). i am sad that these books hurt people and am also curious to read them (again in case of daine) to see if i am sensitive enough now. i haven‘t read trickster‘s choice yet but i guess it will be my next read.
have you read any books by tamora pierce and how did you like them? πŸΊπŸ΄πŸ‰πŸ±πŸ΄πŸΊπŸ‰πŸ±πŸΊπŸ΄πŸ‰πŸ±

My current read is „jake djones“ by damian dibben. the original title is „the history keepers. the storm begins“ and it was translated into german by michael pfingstl. i am not very far into it yet but it starts promising. it starts with a kidnapping and so far the action has been a whirlwind with about five seconds to catch our breath. does anybody know this book (or series? i think its a series)?

Who else loves nevermoor? πŸ’– i am very glad @inch.along.the.bookshelves let me borrow her copy (now i want my own) and that the second book is about to be published. :) morrigan is a great girl and i get that she has trust issues. the beginning was pretty nasty but then it turned into a magical, exciting, funny and a bit creepy adventure. the characters are cute and likable or not... i am a bit confused about how many books are planned for this series. @inch.along.the.bookshelves and i read somewhere that there will be 9 books but on the back of the german translation it says that this was the first of a trilogy. does anybody have any information on that? maybe @digressica ? 😊

I am back with a new post! finally my work schedule and the weather agreed on a free sunny day that was very nice for taking a walk, logging some geocaches and snapping some pictures for bookstagram. 😊 september was a very slow reading month (and a very busy month at work) so the time traveler‘s wife by audrey niffenegger was the only book i finished besides purple hibiscus.
the story was very interesting and i am very interested in seeing how the made it into a movie (but will have to wait until the bf also finishes it). the first half really took me a long time to read bit after a certain point i couldn‘t put it down. as in so many books i would have loved a bit more at the end, but it was okay that way. being a huge #doctorwhofan i found the mechanics of this kind of time traveling especially interesting. thanks a lot @inch.along.the.bookshelves for giving me this book. πŸ’–

Pheeeeeew, i just finished this amazing book. a friend gave it to me (thank you, eden! πŸ’–) and i was super curious, especially because she said that adichie‘s writing was so important to her but also because ms. adichie is going to be at the frankfurt book fair in october. i won‘t lie this was very hard to read for me. the book is full of violence and oppression and adichie‘s words made all of kambili‘s emotions so real that they felt like my own. i was also very impressed by the translation, great job, judith schwaab! #loveyourtranslator
who has read this and how did you like it? πŸŒπŸ¦—πŸŒπŸ¦—πŸŒπŸ¦—πŸŒπŸ¦—πŸŒπŸ¦—πŸŒ

It is my 1 year bookstaversary! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
time flies like crazy and it has been such a fun year - at least reading wise. i have read more than in the past years because i enjoy it so much talking about books with you guys. thanks for being amazing human beings. πŸ’– in celebration of my bookstaversary and because i have a couple of new followers i thought i‘d do some of the tags that i‘ve had waiting for me.
i‘ll start with #readinggoals for which @turquoise.reader tagged me (ages ago). πŸ““reading goal for this year: 24
πŸ““read so far: 30
πŸ““next on tbr: one of the books of chimamanda ngozi adichie that are on my unread shelf
πŸ““reading goal for next year: probably 30
πŸ““books on wishlist: so many, but definitely beren and lúthien, crooked kingdom, leah on the offbeat, binti 4 (ok, ok, i know it doesn‘t exist...)
πŸ““perfect book as a gift: the hate u give - because everybody should read this.
also #booksandheroes one of the hundred tags that @catearred tagged me in:
πŸ’ͺ🏿wonder woman - a book with strong female characters: can i say wonder woman? πŸ˜‚ but also six of crows and binti
πŸ’ͺ🏾superman - a book with a character from out of this world: binti! πŸ’ͺ🏽batman - a book with a good plot twist: the night masquerade (binti 3), broken homes (rivers of london)
πŸ’ͺ🏼aquaman - a book set in the sea: daughter of the pirate king (ha, i haven‘t read the sequel yet!)
πŸ’ͺ🏻the flash - quick read: binti! super exciting and short πŸ’–
πŸ’ͺ🏿cyborg - a character that overcame death: an excuse for spoilers? sorry, no going to answer this one ;) thanks for tagging me! 😍😍 though i am often too lazy to do the tags i love doing them, if that makes sense. everybody please feel free to join in if you want to do the tags. and please tag me so that i can see your answers. 😊 πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

So i started the second book that you guys picked for me: the time traveller‘s wife by #audreyniffenegger and i have read the first 100 pages already. so far i have enjoyed it though i really have to strain my brain to keep up with who‘s met who, when and why. i found the german translation you can see in the picture on my boyfriend‘s shelf and decided we should buddyread it. not sure it will work because i have a headstart now. πŸ€”

Six of crows! this is the book you lovely bookstagram people picked for me for this month‘s #theunreadshelfproject2018 challenge and i want to thank you for it. i might have skipped a day of work to finish it because i needed to know what happened next. πŸ˜‡ as with #wonderwoman #leighbardugo did a great job with an exciting, fast paced story, great action, twists and interesting characters. i am really looking forward to #crookedkingdom now, but as i don‘t own it yet it will probably take a while. πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““πŸ““
