Some of you may notice it. i have lost muscle. i haven’t trained and i have been inactive. i took almost december off, i was sick and i gave time to recover. though the years i have learned to listen to my body. this time i needed to recover and so did i. now is time to go back home and i am going beast mode.

i was reading @stevecook post and he is right, this recessions are the ones who allow me to fall in love with training all over again.

What now? where have i been? ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
i will explain a bunch of things so i am going to divide into several parts this post 😂
-
1️⃣: as you may know i have been very sick this past month and i have trained 4-5 days of 22. 🤒 i have lost weight , muscle and endurance and to be honest it was bringing me down at first.
but then i realized is part of the process . i will adjust my trainings again as a beginner and i will correct the mistakes i made during this months . i will focus more on skills because i want body control, not just power. i will be “hybrid “ and combine different methods to be an all rounded athelte.

2️⃣: personally i’ve been with uni final exams, #team_mejia and other changes in my life. my purpose for 2019 is to be better, succeed and enjoy the failures (i am sure there will be ones bc that’s life). empathy and kindness (@garyvee😉)

3️⃣: i decided i am going to enjoy this christmas. i will have a well deserved rest. i am looking forward to arrive in colombia 🇨🇴 and see my family 😍. eat all the foods and enjoy 🤤. remember that family is the most important thing and you have to be grateful for the ones around you.

4️⃣: about the hoodies, i am testing them now and my plan is to launch them in january / february if everything goes as planned.

5️⃣: enjoy this christmas too 🎄🎊🎁. be with the ones you love. eat , enjoy , rest , but don’t forget to train. remember that everything counts!💪🏻.

It all started with a dream . then i started working and it’s still a dream,but step by step it is becoming a real thing.
today i was at a meeting and i realized how important are the people around you.

because of this i want to introduce you to @a.sainz98 and @kik3sanz .they were here since the beginning, when no one came to train.

in this post i want to thank with all my heart to this guys who are always there💪🏻📍. those saturdays when no one came at the beginning except from them , even now when it’s cold they are there and encouraging me , helping me and motivating me🥶❄️ . they spread the voice and tell people to come and train with us. they show interest and want to help with #team_mejia.

they are great guys, and i am forever grateful because without them , the saturday community training would be impossible, because they are there no matter what 💪🏻👊🏻.

Are you afraid of failure?

personally, i love failure as much (or even more) as i love winning.
-
failure is the tool through which i learn how to win. i learn from my mistakes, from my bad decisions.
-
then, i take note of those things and implement them again in a positive way in order to obtain a favorable outcome.
-
i can’t wait to meet the obstacles and failures of #team_mejia , so i can win and reach my goals.

dear failures: you don’t scare me, i am waiting for you, and i promise...you won’t bring me down. you will lift me up, make me learn and you will help me to achieve greatness.

Do you use weights? or do you train only calisthenics?.

this is a very common question i get.

the answer is : yes, i do use weights. it is 20% of my training. i mix it with weights because i believe is the best way to achieve a complete physique, stay functional and isolate some muscles (here the biceps).

there is also like a “taboo” when people that do calisthenics use weights. as i have in my profile since last year , i do calisthenics + weights. meaning 80% of my training is calisthenics and 20% is weights (legs, and isolation work).

this isolation work is done when i finish my workout. for example: today i trained 5 exercises, which 4 of them where calisthenics and the last one was this biceps curl.

why?: for three reasons : - [ ] 1. after doing calisthenics if you want to isolate the muscle is very difficult since you will tend to pull more with one arm than another(i.e in pull ups or chin ups), and also i was tired and couldn’t do more than 3 pull ups at that moment .
- [ ] 2. i like to feel the pump in the muscles 🤣
- [ ] 3. as an athlete, you have to maximize your trainings and combining different exercises will make your body react to different stimulus , so you can have a great performance. doing or not doing curls won’t affect my performance at all, but will help my body react to a different exercise.

that’s why after every workout at the gym i isolate a body part that i want with weights.

passion keeps you happy.

i used to think that this wasn’t true, how passion is going to be my strength or my energy ?.
-
but in this month, with uni exams , stress, less sleep and sore body, i realized i was wrong.
-
my passion for sport , for calisthenics keeps me going . i am sometimes tired, but i workout , because my goal is bigger and my dream is huge!!!
-
i apply this not only to sport but for my upcoming business, it is hard ,but passion beats laziness.
