Cicada magic pendant ✨ this is one of my favourite pieces i have created, ever! the cicada’s beautiful iridescent wings shine purple in the light. πŸ’« i have given this little fallen angel a bed of australian native flowers to sleep in for the rest of eternity.
β‹’ β‹’ β‹’
before posting this pendant, i had a look online for the symbolism of cicadas as i like to include this sort of information with my pieces.
i learnt a load of interesting facts and found a beautiful post written by @aviawhatsyoursign that i have linked on the product page. here’s one of my favourite excerpts:
“cicada’s nestle themselves in the cool earth, almost as if in hibernation, feeding on the roots of trees until their internal body-clocks sound an alarm, resurrecting them from the earth. the symbolic implications of this were staggering to me. it spoke to me about things like: timing, inner knowing, patience, resurrection, and also a symbiotic partnership with the mother earth as well as a special union with trees (an aspect that’s always intriguing, as trees are phenomenal wisdom-keepers).” ~ avia venefica
β‹’ β‹’ β‹’
please note, my intention with the creation of my pieces would never be to encourage the killing or harming of any animal, but rather encouraging people to appreciate the beauty of them and all they have to offer us. i found this cicada on one of my morning walks, it had been dinner for a lilac ant family and the outer shell had been discarded.

three more little bees immortalised in native flower heavens. 🌼 after the last bee pendant post i’ve had so many friends message me when they’ve found dead bees and i’ve been able to use those to create a few more pieces. these little lovelies have all found new homes. 🐝

It’s been a while since i’ve created one of these little masterpieces. i found this little bee 🐝 whilst walking in the sunshine the other day. they’d used up their stinger and sadly passed. what better way to honour them than by immortalising him in an aussie native flower heaven? 🐝🌼

bees are easily amongst some of the most important insects to humans on mother earth. they are unfortunately taken for granted all too often, but the fact is that we couldn’t live the life we do without these hard little workers. bees (along with the help of other pollinators such as butterflies and beetles) pollinate more than 80% of the plants grown for human consumption. directly and indirectly they play a role in everything we eat and are vital to creating and maintaining the habitats and ecosystems that we and many other animals rely on. bees are having a hard time and their numbers are rapidly decreasing, so next time you see a bee in need, please don’t just pass them by - a simple offering of some sugar water can go a long way. and if you’re able to - garden with plants that attract the bees and create a habitat for them to enjoy. (there are wonderful resources for any bee need to knows online.) 🐝🐝 #savethebees #australiangarden #australianflora #australianflowers #australiannatives *this piece has sold*

∴ o u r o b o r o s is now here! this collection is so dear to my heart. a heartfelt collaboration with my love, daniel. i crafted the botanical resin bits and he put his clever little head down and transformed them into something far more magical than i could have ever anticipated.

ouroboros (depicted as a serpent or dragon eating its own tail) is symbolic of the perpetual nature of life and renewal. we are constantly redefining and re-creating ourselves, we are eternally returning. we have to devour and absorb the past in order to learn from it, move past it, and evolve. an old idea of mine (once given up on) now reworked and turned into something even better, shared with him. β™‘β™‘
