The foundation of tennis is footwork and ball control. @federicobrownetennis we train both simultaneously while working with intensity to keep the heart rate high for conditioning. this drill was back to the basics for me. for my grip,stroke, body and movement an exaggerated open stance is beneficial for a cleaner shot. for some a semi open or more closed is better. once a strong foundation is set finding your own technique is critical for confidence. what works for some will not work for all.

Working on closing the gaps in my game. what once was a huge weakness is now a decent shot. still working on proper balance. not a big enough step into the ball and not a high enough follow through. but this will improve. train to expose your weaknesses while still improving your strengths. many players spend too much time obsessing over their flaws that they forget they should continue to improve on their strengths. practice time must be planned and thought out to balance this process. increase 1% daily and enjoy the reward at the end of the process. #practice #train #tennis #athlete #improve #coach #player #sport #sweat

Functional strength training for the prevention of injury. proper form and stability allows the larger muscles to fire and relieves pressure on the knees for longevity and allows for more effective movements. jump with the band forcing your knees to remain stable and not to fall toward each other. you will feel the glutes working when done correctly. #workout #tennis #fitness #sport #athlete #exercise #sweat

Working on a change of direction inside in and then focusing on the balance and weight transfer for an aggressive high forehand crosscourt. the high racquet preparation and stable upper body is crucial for this shot. in the semi open stance catch the ball at chest or shoulder height. transfer the weight into the ball from right leg (placed outside the incoming ball)to left leg and finish around the left shoulder. #instruction #coach #athlete #sport #tennis #train #learn #practice #fitness #workout #ball
