What is kitchari? kitchari is here to help you grow spiritually, physically, and emotionally. kitchari has been consumed for thousands of years in india. it's fed to babies, seniors, the sickly; and eaten by those who have no appetite, have returned from a long trip or are simply on a budget.

kitchari is also used as a cleansing method where you actually get to eat. now that's my kinda cleanse. to do this cleanse you eat kitchari for each meal, 3 or 4 times a day, until you are full. remember, full doesn't mean stuffed. full means 1/3 food, 1/3 water and 1/3 space. yes, veggies partially count as water. no deprivation, no starvation, just pure grounded goodness. if you can't stomach kitchari in the morning feel free to eat a simple bowl of oatmeal (with no toppings!) instead and resume eating kitchari for your other meals. i'll do a kitchari cleanse mono-diet a couple times a year; spring and fall or whenever i feel like i need a reset which most of the time means after the holidays, too! i promise if you do this cleanse you will feel grounded, balanced and deeply nourished.

Fudgy vegan mocha protein brownies (gluten free) 🍫🍫☕⠀

theres nothing like the satisfaction when you cut into a brownie, lift up a piece and see that fudgy centre! 😍 ⠀

just a quick note on coffee: there is nothing inherently bad about coffee! in fact, some studies suggest it may aid in weight loss. the issue is the 25 spoonfuls of sugar / excessive caffeine consumption when we're talking about store-brought grande varieties, which we skull 3-4 of a day. that's when an issue arises. especially for those of us with a sensitive gut, excessive caffeine can send us to the loo much faster than most. so be mindful of consumption and avoid having coffee after 3pm to get your vital 😴😴⠀

makes: 8-12 brownies 👇⠀
ingredients 👇⠀
1 1/2 cup of gluten-free self raising flour⠀
1 cup coconut sugar⠀
1 scoop of coffee protein powder (or plain and add 1 tsp of instant coffee)⠀
1/3 cup cocoa powder ⠀
wet:⠀
1 cup almond milk⠀
1/4 cup almond butter⠀
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted ⠀
frosting:⠀
200g vegan dark chocolate, melted⠀
2 tablespoons almond milk ⠀
1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted⠀

walnuts for decorating ⠀
method 👇⠀
1) preheat the oven to 160 degrees celsiusline a square baking tin with non-stick paper.⠀
2) in a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients⠀
3) in another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients until smooth⠀
4) add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, folding until no dry ingredients remain. ⠀
5) transfer the brownie batter into the square tin and bake for 20-25 minutes until a knife inserted into the centre comes out almost clean, but a little dirty.⠀
6) remove and allow to cool ⠀
7) once cool, make the frosting: mix the melted dark chortle, coconut oil and almond milk until a thick and smooth mixture forms⠀
8) spread the frosting over the brownie and sprinkle with walnuts for decoration ⠀

this brownie is definitely more chocolatey that coffee, but nonetheless very moist & delicious. so if you want a brownie that is stronger in coffee flavour, i would suggest adding 1-2 teaspoons of granulated coffee powder, or adding a shot of espresso! ☕️

these frozen banana pops make a healthy and easy snack or dessert! with just one ingredient and a couple of your favourite combination of toppings, you'll have your favourite treat right at your fingertips. 👌⠀

while i do love to enjoy some delicious store bought vegan ice cream, they can be overpriced and quite processed. by making my own frozen treats, i know exactly whats in them and they don't flatten my wallet 😂⠀

i hope you try making some frozen banana pops & love them as much as i do because they're:⠀
✔ vegan friendly ⠀
✔ gluten & dairy free⠀
✔ healthy & refreshing⠀
✔the perfect afternoon pick me up on hot summer days⠀
✔cheap⠀
✔customizable to satisfy anyones favourite combination of flavours ⠀
✔fast & easy to make⠀

prep time: 15 minutes⠀
freeze time: 2-3 hours but best over night ⠀
makes 6 servings ⠀
ingredients 👇⠀

3 large frozen bananas ⠀
2 tbsp peanut butter (+pinch of sea salt if not salted)⠀
1 tbsp maple syrup⠀
3/4 c semi-sweet vegan mini chocolate chips ⠀
sliced almonds⠀
flaked coconut ⠀
method 👇⠀

slice banana's into halves and poke them with cake pop sticks or popsicle sticks. place them onto a metal tray and freeze for at least 2 hours. ⠀
mix peanut butter and maple syrup together⠀
melt chocolate chips over double boil or microwave and gather all your other topings⠀
for the peanut butter chocolate version, spread the maple peanut butter spread over and drizzle with melted chocolate. top with coconut flakes.⠀
place them back into the freezer for at least 1 hour. ⠀

I decided to treat myself to some flowers! 🌻 each time i've walked past the bunches of sunflowers they make me smile. i'm not one to buy flowers because i think: what for? though, if they can cheer me up just in passing at the store, i bet they'll be wonderful to wake up to in my bedroom! i also grabbed some eucalyptus after seeing @leefromamerica and @rachlmansfield spreading it all over their home spaces! 🌿 bring on the good vibes! what's something that's cheering you up today? .
