Getting back into my soulcycle groove! prior to sunday, i hadn’t souled in over a month. now i’m thinking it may be the perfect addition to running & bbg. i’m trying to keep my fitness regimen in flux so that i never get sick of anything. it’s also good to get variation. cycling this weekend made me realise how much different muscles get used doing different activities. do you like to mix it up or just stick to the same thing? ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝ‍โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ‍โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿง˜‍โ™€๏ธ

It’s almost 9 pm and i spent the day traveling and in a new office with a long workday but that didn’t stop me from getting in a workout tonight! i went through all the excuses to not do it:
i got up early
today was long
i might just need to relax
i need to unpack
i’m not a night person
what about eating dinner?
i’ll just skip today and sweat tomorrow...
all those things are were excuses! i put on my workout clothes, tied up that hair and told myself “you never regret a workout” and got my b***y to the gym. and now i feel ๐Ÿ”ฅ so never let your excuses control you. beat them!

oh, and yes...my shirt says “always hungry” ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค

No sad desk lunch here ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿป‍โ™€๏ธi’m not one to meal prep (not a huge fan of repetitive food) but i love making a big ole dinner and having some leftovers for evan and me next day. plus it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than eating out ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ .

pro tip: kale is pretty much the only green that can be dressed the day before and not be a soggy sad mess next day. otherwise, save the dressing for day of ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป .

da goods: baked chicken (with @primalpalate meat and potato seasoning + italian herbs, at 425 for 18 mins), and a kale salad with rainbow tomatoes, broccoli + carrot slaw, red cabbage, avocado with @traderjoes vegan green goddess dressing (thanks @sammyshaf it’s bomb next day๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป)

If there's one thing i love when it comes to cooking, it's experimenting with new recipes and flavours. lately, i’ve been using harissa, labneh and sumac in so many recipes and a few days ago, i made a pan-roasted squash with tomatoes and chickpeas, that’s bound to be on repeat at home this fall.

this recipe was done in 20 minutes ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ and all it took was a bit of olive oil poured over the vegetables and a blend of super flavourful moroccan spices from club house power bowl seasoning mixes, that now have a special place in my pantry. a sprinkle of almonds, green onions and a bit of sultana raisins on top has made this easy dinner one that the whole family loved, and that my friends, makes my day๐Ÿ˜Š

apart from riding the roller coasters (in the dark) there were also haunted houses and zombies walking around everywhere๐ŸงŸ‍โ™‚๏ธ i’ve screamed a lot yet surprisingly there was one thing that i heard even more than my own screaming.. other people yelling “omg it’s hollands next top model”๐Ÿ˜ฑ

we went with a large group and 3 #hntm finalist so i should have seen it coming but i didn’t๐Ÿ™ˆ seeing all the shocked faces gasping for air was probably the funniest thing of the day until i had to become the bodyguard and tell little girls that their idols weren’t taking pictures today. some really hated me for it but luckily for them karma hit me back by having even more fans violently push me away to get a closer look at their fave models whilst stepping on my white shoes

best part was when i was terrified of a rollercoaster, got convinced to ride it and whilst trying not to die in there i noticed half the queue filming us. i was 90% sure that my biggest fear of throwing up in public had just become worse by people filming and it ending up on youtube๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ˜‚ i survived though

12 weeks ๐Ÿ’ซ i started at 170 lbs and this morning i weighed 141 lbs ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ thank you @1stphorm for providing an opportunity that got me excited and motivated enough to start making changes in my life. i will forever be grateful for you ๐Ÿ˜˜ here are some things i did over the past 12 weeks...
• i recognized some of my fears and pushed through them.
• i stopped feeling bad for myself.
• i became aware of certain limits i had set for myself, and i raised those limits.
• i realized how amazing i am and that i am in control of my life.

I can't believe i made it! 12 weeks of bbg down and the journey continues!

i am now just past three months postpartum from having a natural birth and feel great! i have done all the workouts by @kayla_itsines from my home and am so so thankful for the 30 minute workouts that require minimal equipment.
.
thank you kayla and @sweat team for creating such a great community i couldn't have done it without ya!

what's next? i'm going to be now adding in more weight training! starting next monday i will be taking part in @1stphorm challenge, wish me luck, i'm pretty excited!! looking forward to continuing to grow and learn as i continue my journey! i truly love y'all thanks for sticking around and being apart of my journey!! ๐Ÿ’•

Yesterday i had one of the greatest workouts i’ve had in a very long time!!! today.....not so much. ——————————————————————
i’m actively trying to add in a lot more weight training into my workout routine. i’m very used to hiit and a crazy heart rate and fast paced movements. but now as i’m slowing it down and targeting certain muscle groups, it feels strange and new to me. ——————————————————————
i feel very vulnerable and uncomfortable considering the movements and exercises i’m doing are completely out of my realm of knowledge. i’m a body weight/at-the-most dumbbell girl and for me to add in new equipment is scary. (i’m legit afraid of the cable machines lmao) walking into a gym and feeling confident is hard enough but adding the fear of using a machine wrong is just bringing me down :/ ———————————————————————
today i ~attempted~ back + bis. the first half of my workout i felt so strong and so excited and so confident in the movements. (i used dumbbells, a barbell, + a plate) but once i hit the second half which was primarily machine based i froze up. i got through about 2 of the 6 exercises i planned and honestly i felt defeated. i felt upset and weak that i was scared of an inanimate object like wut!!!!! ————————————————————————
going from here i’ve decided i’m going to be confident in all i do (even if it’s completely wrong!) and i’m going to ask questions if i don’t understand a machine or if i think my form is funky. no one is going to do everything perfectly right the first time! life (and fitness!) is all about trial and error. that’s how you gain knowledge, gain strength, + achieve your goals. watch out cable machine because im coming for you!!!!!!!!

get your priorities right. stop making excuses and start making positive changes. sometimes this is all you have to do in order to get results.

it is easy to eat breakfast on the run with the multitude of options available. however make it your priority to get up in the morning to have a sit down breakfast or prepare your breakfast the night before so it is ready for you in the morning.

it is important to remember that whole foods will always be a superior option to processed options found in pretty packages.

look past bs claims like ‘high protein’ and pick whole foods that provide the same benefits without the ‘health claims’ โ €

i have made it a priority to make myself an omelette everyday for breakfast. why? i love eggs and i thought it would be an excellent way to add some extra veggies to my day! i usually pair this with a slice of multigrain toast with @vegemite

There have been very subtle changes in my composition the past 2 months. this comparison is from labor day to yesterday. during this time, i have switched to #pwr and gained more muscle. i am the same weight in both pictures, 152 lbs. also, they are both relaxed poses. i thought it would be easier to compare results this way! i have lost a little fluff around my midsection and my shoulders seem to be more toned! i’m a happy lady and loving pwr! •
