“i smile up at him. "it's beautiful. but what comes next?"

"the best part." and he pulls me back into his arms. "the happily ever after.”
today i’m off to spend as portion of the day with @bookchelle because we’re seeing stephanie perkins. i can’t wait to hear her talk about tsiyh and to get a finished copy in my greedy hands.
what is your favorite book from stephanie?

This was a very dangerous picture to take. how do you #bookstagrammers take brilliant spine photos without books tumbling over? i love sprite and i don't care who knows it.
anyway, there was no lab in paleontology today so i was a bit bummed but it gave me time to finally finished re jane!! i loved this novel so much! i loved jane and how she eventually handled all of her problems. sometimes you just have to go through your mistakes to realise them for yourself. she frustrated me sometimes but eventually she came to her senses. her contrasting lives in new york and seoul were both enjoyable to read and if you're asian american, you'll see that her experiences are truly familiar. i loved the ending. ๐Ÿ˜also, the historical context of 9/11 was important to me as it took me back to where i was when the twin towers fell; i was young and still growing up whereas jane was in her twenties trying to figure things out about herself and where she came from. her uncle sang is my favourite character even though he's loud and overbearing. he's one of the familiar ones. ๐Ÿ˜‚ also, this was a most interesting retelling of jane eyre--it's modern and relatable. plus, it was hella funny.
i bought two books yesterday with my b&n voucher. i've been meaning to read isla for ages but i was so put off by lola when it was released that i wasn't sure if i'd like isla. anna is still number one in my heart but lola, the character and the novel, was always trying too hard to be different. you have purple wigs... okay, i'm not impressed by how many times she had to mention just how strange she thought she was. the bookstore finally had the paperback of isla so i read the first chapter and was hooked! this caption's long enough so i hope you all have a nice rest of your weekend!
