Sometimes, healing consists of sitting in coffee shops and writing the years from your mind. sometimes, healing is laughing until you cry; it is kissing your friends' faces and being moved and inspired by your life. and sometimes, healing is rest; it is hiding from the world, it is having everything inside of you be still and quiet and eerily bare. sometimes healing feels like nothing at all, like you are a silhouette of hope and hurt at the same time. do not fight it. whatever your healing looks like today, whatever it consists of, just allow it to be what it is. just take care of yourself. - anon.

i love this quote. we all heal in our own way, don’t we? personally, i heal through journaling, through indulging in my favorite cocktail, through dipping a nib in ink and writing the word “symphony” over and over again, feasting on c***s while watching rerun of friends, a nice cool bath on a hot day, going for ladies night with my bestie, gifting an unexpected gift to someone who inspires me, traveling with my soulmate, cuddling my cats.... thank god for all these healing properties!
.
how about you? how do you heal?

Whose revolutionary stained glass work did we look to for today’s art history layout? this new york native began as a painter, but quickly moved to working with glass. unsatisfied with the style of contemporary fine glassmakers, he took matters into his own hands. through his work, he implemented the innovative copper foil stained glass technique. this technique was used often in window panes and the elaborate lamps for which he would become known. he founded a company which employed as many as 300 craftsmen, and included a team of talented glass-cutting women led by clara driscoll. the company’s efforts resulted in many interior commissions, including a white house makeover. his distinguished last name is also one synonymous with fine jewelry - his work with his father’s jewelry and luxury home goods company brought it to fame at the turn of the century. who can give us the name of today’s artist?
