Seeing quad gains after i've started upping calorie intake these last 3 weeks or so. i realised that due to stress and a very busy work schedule, i was inadvertently losing weight as i just wasn't eating enough to sustain my training. now starting to feel stronger and bigger again! 💃💃 .
the last few days have been crazy! went up to edinburgh for the day with my friend @lucyanne93 on friday which was amazinggg but our flight got delayed by 3 hours on the way back, which after a 3:30am start on the friday morning was not ideal 😂 we were basically walking zombies .
then worked the weekend and off for a thai tonight! 🤤🤤 how was your weekend?! .

💪🏻today we’re talking about something that can make a huge difference in the effectiveness of your workouts: your warm up. specifically, dynamic stretching. most people now know that static stretching before a workout can decrease performance and increase chance of injury. research has shown that a dynamic warm up more is beneficial

👩🏼‍🔬the study: this study aimed to look at exactly what *type* of dynamic stretching helped best to improve strength, range of motion, and muscle/tendon lengths by comparing the effects of fast and slow dynamic stretching.
🔅relatively fit subjects were tested in 2 separate sessions. during each session, they first evaluated the strength, range of motion, and muscle length factors, then performed either fast or slow dynamic warm ups, then reassessed the factors to see the change.

🔬the results: the slower dynamic warm up appears to be more effective, especially when it comes to muscle stiffness and strength.
🔅the slower dynamic warm up resulted in: greater eccentric and concentric strength, a decrease in muscle strain, and a decrease in musculotendinous unit strain.

Paid to run a 15k (9.3 miles) in 20 degree weather (windchill of 9) this morning... does this officially make me a crazy runner🏃🏼‍♀️???? went into this race with zero expectations as i was coming off a sickness, allergic reaction and finals week. ended up beating my time from last year by 4 seconds! ran 1:18:14 which is 8:24 pace! pretty happy with the result and even happier to spend the rest of my day in bed 🤗🎉 hope everyone had a great weekend!!!
