the first picture you will see is that of a protection order. the protection order states that it does not expire and that my father must keep within 100 yards of me. this protection order was put into place when i was in high school and although i knew my father was a sick man i didn't realize what a protection order was or why i needed one. well, now i do.
the second picture is of him attempting to contact me after my daughter was born. my daughter is the result of a one night stands that i had after being raped. so yes, i became promiscuous after i was raped. i also get hungry, and sleep at night, and take showers and do all the other things associated with being a human being. to r**e someone is to steal their ability to have ownership of their body and free choice. anyway, after i ignored all his other emails and attempts to reach me he sent me the email you see here talking about my daughter. he does not understand that i do not want him in my life and that is scary.

the third picture is of my rights as a victim of domestic assault and r**e that i received after meeting with a detective about what had happened to me and although i was believed by the detective who interviewed me i was told that there was not enough evidence to prosecute him in court.

the film clip i animated for your phone, so if you maximise the screen it should fit nicely.

the track i recorded at home, i’ve been sitting on the bass line for years.
it’s about two kids playing at a park and there’s a stern dad voice you’ll hear in there aswell. the kids you’ll hear as the interplay between the gtr and keyboard. the literal kid sample is a short voice recording i took on my phone one day of my kids at the park, and the baby giggling in the middle is my youngest. so it’s a super sweet song for me 🙂

then i played all the percussion. shane landry added big daddy sax. i’m especially fond of the multi layered horn part he added early in the song. that’s all him multi tracked. jesse schadel on keys. he’s a super hip player. to eat his part threw the track in front of him and he doodled around over it unbeknown to him i would chop it into what you’re hearing now.
i did the same with the guitar, which i played myself. without the keys and guitar being played in the same room i feel like the chemistry between those two parts is really on point.

scottie chapman, who has that natural toe tapping feel in his blood added some congas which helped with those carnivale vibes before i handed it over to allon silove for the final mix and master. al does super mixes that i really feel help a track stand up commercially. so make sure you put your fave headphones on or listen on your fav set of speakers. that’s the thing with music unless you give it the right platform to be delivered it’s like chips without salt. #new #music #fox #control #vibes #fresh #house #jazz #lounge #sax #drums #percussion #beat #keys #guitar #delay #kids #sample #ableton #record #studio
