we all struggle with trying to reduce calories to lose fat, including me.
so, if you saw my “eating healthy can’t lose weight” post, you might remember linda, who eats healthy but consumes too many calorie dense foods.

well, i was linda. you can see my lunch a year ago which has almost 100 grams of f*t and over 1300 calories. actually - not a bad lunch for a bulking phase.

however, i wanted to lean up this summer and after tracking my food for a week, i noticed my f*t consumption was a bit high with my protein a little low.

so, i simply looked at ways to reduce f*t and increase protein. i started using olive oil spray instead of dousing the pan in olive oil. i used more eggs but cut out the yolks on 3 of them. i reduced my avocado portion to 1/4 of an avocado.

and, voila, i eliminated 600 calories from one meal - and honestly i didn’t have to change much.

i also added a f*t free greek yogurt snack at the end of the night to increase protein and still keep calories manageable.

remember - a deficit is the key to weight and f*t loss, and often the best course of action is to start tracking your food and looking at trends. this will give you a clear picture of what you might need to change.

😋so as promised from a couple of days ago here’s our video recipe for those tofu quesadillas.😋

👌these quesadillas are perfect for a breakfast, packed full of protein and fibre. topped off with a little cheese and warmed through in a pan, you will fall in love with them.

time: 15 minutes total

difficulty: easy

calories: 550
-
170g tofu
115g tinned black beans, drained
85g cherry tomatoes
1 garlic clove
1 tsp fajita seasoning
1 lime
a small handful of fresh coriander
2 small tortilla wraps
20g feta

heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and throw in your crumbled-up tofu, black beans, quartered cherry tomatoes and crushed garlic. add a squeeze of lime juice, fajita seasoning, coriander and a splash of water. cook this mixture for 3-4 mins or until the tomatoes start to break down.

heat another non-stick pan over a medium heat and lay in one of your tortillas. add a portion of the tofu mix over the tortilla and cover with the cheese, now place your other tortilla on top and press down. if your feeling brave you can flip the quesadilla onto a plate and slide back in the pan or just slide the quesadilla into the oven until nice and crispy.

to serve, slice the quesadilla into pieces and get stuck in.

So we are 6.5 weeks into the xmas cut and down just under 9lbs (from lowest average weekly reading)

best i think i've looked and felt at 195lbs "chris...you need to tell me what you done"

well, as i work from home and i'm not that active except training, i reduced calories quite aggressively firstly

i then decided to eat between around 11am and 8pm. not because it's magic but because
.
✔i'm more productive with my work first thing on just coffee and plenty water.
.
✔i break my fast at 11am as my pre training meal (whey & berry smoothie and pancakes with jam 😍)
.
✔i prefer eating more later in the day and the evening as i sleep better.

do i recommend you do that? nope, unless it suits you, you're daily schedule and is sustainable for you

I missed #facetofacefriday, but thought i'd post today because i'm feeling meh again! so, this is me size 26 (l) to a size 14 (r). i think i'll be forever on a diet and i'll never feel quite right or happy/confident with myself, but one day at a time innit?!!
