“i wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? and then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again."”
— lewis carroll, alice's adventures in wonderland

Hello there! i wanna talk to you about a book named they called me wyatt. it’ll be available in june and i really wanna encourage you to read it when it’s out. my full review is on my blog (link in bio) but i’ll talk a little bit here so you know what is it about.

author: @natasha.tynes
synopsis

when jordanian student siwar salaiha is murdered on her birthday, her consciousness survives, finding refuge in the body of a baby boy in seattle. stuck in this speech delayed three-year old, siwar tries but fails to communicate with wyatt’s parents, instead she focuses on solving the mystery behind her murder. eventually, her consciousness goes into a dormant state after wyatt undergoes full anesthesia.

fast-forward 22 years. wyatt is a well-adjusted young man with an affinity towards the middle east and a fear of heights. while working on his graduate degree in middle eastern studies, wyatt learns about siwar’s death 25 years ago. for reasons he can’t explain, he grows obsessed with siwar and spends months investigating her death, which police at the time erroneously ruled as suicide. his leads take him to amman, jordan where after talking to her friends and family members, he discovers a clue that unravels the mystery of her death.

review

i am truly grateful that this arc was sent to me by the author because i was looking for something different to read. and it was refreshing. so interesting.

it’s very well written and the characters fascinated me because they were so human, so real, so imperfect and yet so incredibly understandable. in this book you’ll find topics such as religion, culture, history, family, society a lot more. but it all revolves around a murder.

we’ll read the life of a girl but through the eyes of a 3-year-old boy. how bad can that go?

please read the whole review on my goodreads profile or my blog.

qotd: what is your current read? and how many books have you read this month? this is my third and i think today i’ll finish the forth one.

⠀⠀
💔sete dias perfeitos e então ele desapareceu.
⠀⠀⠀

Do you ever judge a book by its cover?? 🤔
💘
💘
if i’m being completely honest, i always judge a book by its cover 🙈 ahh it sounds so terrible i know! but in my defence, a books cover is usually the first point of contact you have with a book! it’s supposed to peak your interest, convey something about the story, and make you want to pick it up - right?? 📖
💘
💘
i also judge food by its packaging - what can i say! i’m a designer! 😂

Senhorita aurora || babi a. sette || @veruseditora

estrelas: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ + ❤

super recomendo ❤
