And it is monday again. i hope you had a great weekend. in the comments tell me if you would make a good detective.

a killer in me by @olivia_kiernan_author is a dark, irresistible cocktail of secrets, murder, and family. it is impossible-to-put-down and perfect for all thriller fans! to learn more or to purchase a copy click on the link in my bio.

death is no stranger to detective chief superintendent frankie sheehan, but she isn’t the only one from her small, coastal suburb to be intimately acquainted with it. years ago, teenager seán hennessey shocked the tight-knit community when he was convicted of the brutal m****r of his parents and attempted slaying of his sister, though he always maintained his innocence. now, seán is finally being released from prison—but when his newfound freedom coincides with the discovery of two bodies, the alleged connection between the cases only serves to pull frankie further from answers even as it draws her closer to her town’s hidden darkness. with a television documentary revisiting seán’s sentence pushing the public’s sympathies into conflict on a weekly basis, a rabid media pressuring the police like never before, and a rising body count, frankie will need all of her resources if she is not only to catch a killer, but put to rest what really happened all those years ago.

What is a series that has been on your tbr pile for far too long?
mine is the acotar series. i read the first book (low key did not like it) and never started the second. but i've heard from so many of you that you felt the same about the first but then loved the second i plan to start that one soon. like next week-soon. anyone want to volunteer to keep me accountable for that? 🤣

If you were to get lost (with no possibility of coming back) in any of the fictional worlds from this photo, what world would you choose?
a new record... for how long it took me to get this pic haha. but oh well. it was a fun process and i laughed a lot. there's this in taking complicated shots that i can't quite explain. #whpplayful 📚
plus, you can see here some of my favorite ya franchises too (by the way, do you recognize them all?)...
saying that because i have a new video on my youtube channel where i am kinda talking about why some ya books s**k these days.🙈 don't k**l me! but i would be really curious to hear your thoughts on it (link in bio).
but yeah, hope y'all had an amazing week. mine was pretty d**n good for once. little things in life.😂

Working a day job? make the most of it. create a job you love. help others grow. navigate changes and reorganizations. make the system work for you. get promoted. defend yourself from bad players. here are the books that show you how.

This weekend we went on a mini-beach vacation and had no signal. it was great and so relaxing. on the way home today we stopped in point reyes, ca and i of course had to visit the local bookshop. i ended up picking up two graphic novels from @nobrowpress. i’ll have to share them with y’all soon. they are both so pretty. how was your weekend? did you do anything fun?

☞ rembrandt, a case study in light & dark // the light must never be overused. the light must give a way to dark hours of solitude. known for the depth of his art and the brave reach into the dark spaces of his subject, as well as for exposing the subject’s inner self and confronting the viewer in many ways, rembrandt will remain the master of the golden age and the father of mysterious interpretation of contrasts. rembrandt's art affected my soul long time ago and created the ultimate, never-ending love to the light and dark, to the contrast and the warmth of colours. if you study his paintings long enough, you see not only the purest expression of light and dark, but also a human mind with its darkness and moments of illuminations and mysterious staircases into the unknown.

this photo is completely inspired by rembrandt and fully dedicated to him. one of my favourite artists. ☞ who is your favourite painter?

May i present you #behindthebookstagrammer 😂😂😂 - sometimes bentley really hates when i have my photo shoots and he tries to get in on the action 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️ - he was just as excited about this @jasminepics compilation that i was trying to create as i was! do your pets get mad when you try and take photos? bentley actually dislikes the use of any electronics in his presence at any time! 🤣💗🐾

||tag: seres sobrenaturais (autoral)
🌑vampiro: um livro que te tirou o sangue de tão cansativo que foi;
"o morro dos ventos uivantes" foi bem cansativo de ler no começo, ainda mais por ser meu primeiro clássico em linguagem antiga. porém agora se tornou nada mais nada menos que um dos meus livros favoritos.
🌑lobisomem: virou a noite lendo pois não conseguia desgrudar da história;
"a seleção" a saga toda em si, parecia que o livro tinha cola na minha mão!
🌑bruxo: aquele livro que te tocou tão fundo que fez magias quando terminou;
"todo dia" não canso de falar desse livro aqui porém ele é meu xodo.
🌑fada: um personagem que te enganou certinho fingindo ter um jeitinho de anjo e sendo maligno;
maven calore de "a rainha vermelha"? jamais...
🌑fantasma: um personagem que morreu, mas vez ou outra ainda é citado na história só para nos fazer sofrer um pouquinho;
🌑metamorfo: o livro que você odiou e amou algumas páginas depois;
🌑zumbie: o livro mais velho na sua estante que já está com a capa tão desgastada que da dó;
"nascida a meia-noite". comprei numa sebo, o antigo dono cuidou tão bem que as páginas estão manchadas de tinta azul e o resto é de dar dó.
🌑sereia: te seduziu no começo mas o final foi só dor e sofrimento;
"o livro do cam" esperava tanto dele e no final foi tanta decepção por não ter sido o que eu esperava. .
