🤷🏽‍♀️ everyone has a past 🤷🏽‍♀️
everyone has a past but you should never use any part of it to save and hold on to just to find the right moment to disclose the information in hopes of destroying someone or relationships with it!
if you live in dc you know people gossip and paths always cross so whatever you did and who you did it with, rumor or not, is always gonna come back up so you have to be ok with looking yourself in the mirror at the end of the day.
i know guys can be more salty, messy and gossipy than women at times especially when hurt, i know cause i've pulled the bitchassness out of the coolest of guys 🙃
when i met josh, i told him guys out here can be messy and we'll cross paths with someone from my past one day guaranteed. so you never look s****d or feel deceived, i'll tell you all the tea about me, true, false, good, bad, ratchet and whatever else can come up.
someone tried to hurt my best friend and make me seem fake af to her and like i was hiding something from josh. welp, thought it was, when my friend asked me about it i kept it 1000 right in front of josh and in detail! josh and i talked about the situation that occurred 6 years ago back in 2015 and how it would be a gamble of emotions when my friend finds out how our own stories had crossed. i asked him for advice about the whole thing and we decided together how to best handle it. so in 2019, it's wack to be messy and throw me up in someone's face just to intentionally hurt them.
because i am a brutally honest person that prefers direct open communication, my character was never questioned, my friend wasn't hurt by the old news, and the person being messy just made himself look bitter and shady to josh and my friend. i'm ok with my story and never share it with the intentions of hurting other people. it's ok and i'm not mad at you because hurt people hurt people. i'm still lookin myself in the mirror just fine at the end of the day.
because everyone has a past 🤷🏽‍♀️

My heart has been broken so many times i’ve stopped wondering if i could pick up the pieces because i know i can. it doesn’t take away the sting of betrayal, the neglect from a loved one or abuse from a lover. the truth is that hurt people hurt people and sometimes when you’re shining your light bright it burns the ego of those closest to you. they are hurt and uncomfortable but they don’t know why. the very sight of you reminds them that they could be doing better so they will lash out verbally, talk about you behind your back, accuse you of hurting them by being your best self or even completely avoid you. this is hard, but don’t take it personally. just let go and find your peace within. continue to follow your souls calling. surround yourself with people that understand your evolution and can support you as you align yourself with love. #getlovedup #godislove *

This pic was taken sometime over the summer. at this point i can now get my feet to touch my head in each direction i do #kingpigeonpose but i’d rather not take new pics doing so to share instead. why not? i think on the internet (and in the online yoga community in particular) we tend to only want the world to see us at our best instead of being open about & honoring where we’re currently at. the first time i tried this pose i was shocked that i got it although it wasn’t the full expression of the pose (being able to touch my foot to my head). that is my absolute favorite moment in yoga—the surprise and elation of trying a difficult pose for the first time, actually being able to do it, and holding it, even if for just a split second. that feeling is what i’d rather share with the world. it’s raw. it’s honest. it’s authentic. just like i always aim to be. doing fancy yoga poses for the gram is cool sometimes but honestly? showing the world where i started from is a lot more fulfilling. 💜

“there is a story of a woman running away from tigers. she runs and runs and the tigers are getting closer and closer. when she comes to the edge of the cliff, she sees some vines there, so she climbs down and holds on to the vines. looking down, she sees that there are tigers below her as well. she then notices that a mouse is gnawing away at the vine to which she is clinging. ⁣

she also sees a beautiful little bunch of strawberries close to her, growing out of a clump of grass. she looks up and she looks down. she looks at the mouse. then she just takes a strawberry, puts it in her mouth, and enjoys it thoroughly. ⁣

this is actually the predicament that we are always in, in terms of our birth and death. each moment is just what it is. it might me the only moment of our life; it might be the only strawberry we’ll ever eat. ⁣

we can either get depressed about it, or we could finally appreciate it and delight in the preciousness of every single moment of our life.”⁣
